I am currently working on my thesis at Arizona State University.
For my thesis I am finding a better way for first time authors to break into the book blogging community. To do this I am creating a how-to of sorts for new authors. The how-to is based on the theory that by contributing to the book blogging community in a certain way, an author can become successful.
But instead of just theorizing on how this should be done, I will also be implementing the theories from my thesis! This means that I must become an author myself and become part of the book blogging community!
Once again, the overreaching goal of this thesis is to find a better way for authors to become noticed by the book blogging community. It is with goal in mind that I have conducted my secondary research. My findings have shown me that respect, and community should be at the forefront of all my endeavors. So it is with these two things in mind that I have decided that the basis of my thesis will be this, “To become part of the book blogging community, you must contribute to and care about the book blogging community members.”
I will be making surveys which I hope book bloggers will take. These surveys will serve to better understand what bloggers like, want, and how they want certain things to be done. With these findings I will be able to give authors a better idea of what bloggers want in books, how-to present their books to bloggers, and how to make systems that set them up to interact effectively/appropriately with bloggers.

Before I conclude I just want to say, I have gotten lucky. You see, this thesis is really important to me. I have always wanted to do this, with or without the thesis requirement. But since I do have to do a thesis, A.S.U. has allocated resources to me that I would have never had otherwise. I would say the two biggest assets from A.S.U. are the two professors that have agreed to take me under their wing. They will be assisting and guiding me through this long and difficult process. I believe that, with their help I will be able to create a book of superior quality that people actually want to read and be better able to understand the book blogging community.
